Klein Road and Voss Farms Elementary School Classroom Additions

New Braunfels ISD at Klein Road Elementary and Voss Farms Elementary, set out with a clear mission: to expand both campuses to better serve a rapidly growing student population. The project consisted of building two classroom additions at the same time on active campuses, matching all existing systems and finishes, working around tight code requirements, and overcoming supply delays, all without disrupting the daily routines of students.

Dawson Construction brought deep K-12 experience and a commitment to transparency and teamwork to the project. Dawson built a clear, proactive plan:

• Resolving a chilled-water line conflict during the holidays and installing it perfectly over summer break.
• Matching structure, roof lines, insulation, brick, millwork, and finishes so the additions blended seamlessly with the existing buildings.
• Ordering long-lead materials early to stay ahead of supply issues.
• Planning all work around school operations to reduce noise, traffic impacts, and disruption.

Dawson worked closely with school administrators and the construction department, ordered equipment early, established clear site logistics, and held regular coordination meetings to prevent issues before they occurred.

Both additions were completed ahead of schedule, with minimal disruption to students and staff. The new spaces look and function like they were part of the original buildings, and Dawson returned money to the district at project closeout.
